MODULE 1
Measure where you are
Start with a quiz to measure your freedom to innovate based on five innovation windows: your program, school system, parents, access to technology, and personal mindset.
Then, measure your progress in terms of five design pillars: overcoming barriers, equipping students to learn at the right level, feeling motivated, aiming for goals, and meeting one-on-one for individual coaching.
Module 1 will set a baseline to measure your growth during this course!

MODULE 2
Overcome innovation constraints
Based on your results from Module 1, select your path through Module 2. Do you want to explore how to innovate even if your school system is inflexible? Are you concerned about working with parents? Is technology a barrier? How about your mindset, fears, and doubts?
Use the worksheets in the module to plan the next two steps to widen your freedom to innovate.

MODULE 3
Teach at the right level
Use the checklist and tutorial in this module to set up a learning platform for your students. This tutorial focuses on the use of Microsoft Teams and specific adaptive apps, but the principles are transferable to other learning management systems and apps. Your tech setup will empower students to self-direct their learning and work at the right level.

MODULE 4
Engage student motivation
Start by attending to basic needs using Maslow's Hierarchy as a reference. Then, you're ready for two next-level moves to turbocharge: free up students' time for motivating experiences and set up a communication system to facilitate peer collaboration and project management.

MODULE 5
Organize the student experience
Learn the four elements of a Flex Learning Arc, the framework we use to organize the student experience in a Flex model. Discover how different schools organize the students' days and weeks.
Then, plan your Flex Learning Arc, adding the elements to motivate your students. Use the schedule template to envision the best student experience for your community.

MODULE 6
Guide individual students
This module includes a time-tested protocol with eight steps for providing excellent individual coaching to students. Practice these steps with each 1-on-1 conference with students. Leaders can also learn the protocol to model it when they meet with staff.
You'll also learn two guardrails to keep yourself and your students safe when meeting individually, whether virtually or in person.

MODULE 7
Review and self-assess
Use the template in this module to reflect on the five design pillars and create a mini-portfolio to showcase your design. Then, take the post-test to check your progress and new understanding.
Plan your next steps for exploring deeper use of AI adaptive software and other disruptive technologies to empower students to be self-directed and free up teachers' or guides' time to become excellent coaches to individual students.
