MODULE 1

Measure where you are

Start with a quiz to measure your freedom to innovate based on five innovation windows: your program, school system, parents, access to technology, and personal mindset.

Then, measure your progress in terms of five design pillars: the guide mentality, students learning at the right level, feeling motivated, aiming for goals, and meeting one-on-one with guides.

Module 1 will set a baseline to measure your growth during this course!

MODULE 2

Overcome innovation constraints

Based on your results from Module 1, select your path through Module 2. Do you want to explore how to innovate even if your school system is inflexible? Are you concerned about working with parents? Is technology a barrier? How about your mindset, fears, and doubts?

Use the worksheets in the module to plan the next two steps to widen your freedom to innovate.

MODULE 3

Teach at the right level

Use the checklist and tutorial in this module to set up Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Learning Accelerators, and other apps of your choice. This will empower students to self-direct their learning and work at the right level.

MODULE 4

Engage student motivation

Use Professor Clayton Christensen's famous Jobs-to-be-done Theory to learn two strategies for engaging student motivation. Then apply these strategies to set up Microsoft Teams, Class OneNote, the Praise feature in Teams, and the channels in Teams.

Record your design for student motivation using the accompanying worksheets.

MODULE 5

Empower individual goal-setting

Learn three ways to empower students to set and track their goals using Microsoft tools. Practice checking their progress using Microsoft Insights.

Then, plan a mini-tutorial for your students to teach them how to set measurable and appropriate-level goals. Guide them in checking their own data to track their progress within Microsoft Education tools.

MODULE 6

Be a guide to individual students

This module includes a time-tested protocol for providing excellent individual coaching to students. You'll also learn two rules to keep yourself and your students safe when meeting individually, whether on Microsoft Teams or in person.

Use the accompanying Question Bank worksheet to choose questions and discussion topics to use when you meet with students.

MODULE 7

Review and self-assess

Use the worksheets in this module to reflect on the five design pillars. Take the post-test to check your progress and new understanding.
